January
Nashville Boat & Sportshow - Like to fish? Would you like a boat? This is your festival. It's normally held at the Nashville Convention Center in mid-January of every year, and features numerous boat and gaming exhibits.

February
Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America Annual Bluegrass Music Awards & National Convention - Bluegrass music is traditionally descended from Scotch-Irish immigrants and holds a large influence in country music -- and this is Nashville after all.

March
Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival - This event spotlights the songwriters and songs that contribute to Nashville's musical tradition. The weeklong festival is named in honor of New York's fabled Tin Pan Alley and celebrates the strength of Nashville's songwriting community. This event is produced by the Nashville Songwriters Association International.

April
26-mile Marathon and Half-Mile Marathon - More than 10,000 runners converge on Music City, normally held the third weekend of the month, to run in this 26-mile Marathon and the 1/2-mile Marathon. It even comes with roadside bands and entertainment.

May
Summer Lights in Music City - This outdoor music festival features live music, the visual arts and dramatic performances. the event also includes family activities and food vendors.

June
The Bonnaroo Music Festival - This hippie throw-down is held every June. It debuted in 2002 on a 600-acre farm in rural Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles south of Nashville. This event features diverse musical styling over three days. Rolling Stone Magazine called Bonnaroo "The American rock festival to end all festivals."

Music Award Shows - Nashville is also home to the annual Country Music Television and Country Music Association award shows which generally run in April and June respectively.

CMA Music Festival/Fan Fair - This is unique among music festivals. It is a four-day celebration of America's music that features artist/fan interaction, autograph signings, photo opportunities, more than 45 hours of concerts, family activities and much more.
Each year, hundreds of artists and celebrities appear at the CMA Music Festival -- from rising stars, to current favorites and the legends. The CMA Music Festival is a stomping ground for both those who love making music and those who love hearing it.

July
Celebration of Cultures - This is an interesting festival taking place on the second Sunday of July to celebrate the cultural diversity of the area through music, dancing, food, storytelling and many more family-related activities.

August
Music City Pig Fest - Taste a variety of barbequed favorites and take in some "hog-calling" at this unique festival. The events also feature live music and shows, as well as pony rides for the little ones.

September
Tennessee State Fair - This event draws more than 200,000 people each year, with its rides, livestock, exhibits, shows and games for all ages. Don't miss the racing pigs, the acrobatics or the karaoke. Kids will love the petting zoo.

October
Oktoberfest - Held at the Germantown historic district, this festival celebrates German culture with accordion music, sauerkraut and, of course, beer.

November
Christmas Village - Stock up on gifts and decorations for the holidays at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. This Christmas-related marketplace features music, stockings, festive foods, decorations and wreaths.
